I recommend the "Restored content" mod to enable parts of the game that weren't ready when the game shipped.

It'll lose to kitey bullshit, since it'll struggle to keep range control against a lot of fits. Anything with a scram, web, and afterburner that can fight you from 7-8km away will probably avoid most of your damage, even. But if they have a MWD and the fight starts at melee, you have a decent chance

It does sound like wishful thinking for a lot of people, for sure. I'm fortunate enough to live somewhere that allows me to buy almost everything I need in person, and I think if more people in my position stopped ordering online it would help.
