You may like immutable distros (Bazzite, Fedora Kinoite/Silverblue, etc).

You CAN'T fuck it up, because the system files are read-only. If you have a yearning to fuck things up, you can do it safely in a toolbox/container, which is the conceptual equivalent to WSL (but better in every way)

If something doesn't works, it's probably a problem with your install, like missing drivers. That's why I recommend distros like bazzite.gg, which auto install drivers, so everything should work for most people with zero work.

Well, Linux gaming is in a much better state now than it used to be. As a general rule, if a game was created with a popular game engine like Unity, Unreal, Godot, etc (the vast majority of games are), and it doesn't use some anti-cheat, then it will run perfectly.
