On this day, Feb 2, in 1976 David Bowie played Vancouver for the first time at the Pacific Coliseum. It was the opening night of the Isolar-1976 Tour in support of “Station to Station” released the previous week. First of 30 times seeing DB. #MusicSky

On this day in 1980 Ultravox played Vancouver for the first time at the Commodore Ballroom. Despite showing singer John Foxx on the advertising, he had left the band and been replaced by Midge Ure. The opener for the show was Vancouver’s AKA featuring Dennis Mills.

On this day in 1979, my 2nd of 7 Ramones shows. I have DOA as the opener in my records, not Pointed Sticks. January 1979 was a great month of music at the Commodore Ballroom with Devo, Blondie and The Clash. Well covered in the book Live at the Commodore by Aaron Chapman.
