How has making this show affected the way that you interact with optimism and pessimism about the future? Has it affected your mental health?

That disgust reaction you have towards the bigoted people who live in poor, rural communities is what turned the hippies of the 60s and 70s into the boomers of today.
No movement is pure. No message is perfect. You have to try anyway if you ever want literally anything to change for the better. 6/6

Discomfort is an important part of growing as a person. It's also an important part of fighting against cultures of silence and fear.
Don't recreate the left-liberal culture bubble that popped when Elon made likes private on Twitter. It can happen here too. 5/6

If someone is expressing a bigoted opinion, tell them that you disagree, not that they're wrong.
If someone is using irony as a shield, use irony to get through to them.
Please, if you value progress, leave this "everything must be cozy for it to be good activism" idea in the past. 4/6

There is no way to get people on your side without talking to them like you're on the same level as they are. If you put someone on a pedestal, they'll lose respect for you and devalue your opinion. If you act like you belong on a pedestal for having the ideas you have, they'll do the same. 3/6

The American left (and now the left in many other places) is afflicted with the same condition all educated Americans face: a total lack of willingness to interface with the public in a way that doesn't have an undertone of "I'm obviously right and you should already agree with me." 2/6

Mad Max lives in a world that essentially brings the American Disaster Film to its logical conclusion. No community, just competition. No cooperation, just taking advantage. No infrastructure, just the products that are the easiest to use in the modern day, without any interaction with other people.

He's Australian, but the world in which he lives is distinctly shaped by American (and more generally, imperial) paranoias. What is the most valuable thing in the Mad Max future? Gas.

Not food, water, heat, shelter, or the means to make those things. Not even precious metals! Guzzoline. Fuel. Oil.

This post gave me a tinge of sadness combined with an acute awareness that I have been suppressing the less "human" parts of myself to an irresponsible degree.

I just chuck out the classic "I don't use it, what else you got?"

I mean, I want welll-maintained trains, busses, bike lanes, and pedestrian infrastructure too, but I'll take the dub on smaller cars if that's all I'm gonna get.

Basically, this place is anti-worker by its very nature, and for that reason, and many more, I oppose it on a spiritual level.

Also, this is just an indoor trampoline park without any of the jumping, which I strongly despise.

I like the idea, but this just looks like the most advanced version of the mcdonald's play place, and it instantly brings to mind what a 4-year-old having an upset tummy day would do to any of these clean, plasticky, sloped surfaces, and how grueling the aftermath would be to clean up for the staff.

I want you to understand, I DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE THIS WAS A JOKE. I had to sit here thinking "why would she post this? what about this is worth posting about?" for a solid minute and a half before I actually got the joke. I am a cozypilled autism MACHINE.
