For Posterity: We were flooded in and then a tree fell. 30 miles of uncharted territory to get to you, my sweet niece!! Turns out, there was a shortcut? Honestly? David and I got beautifully lost and it was a joy to be found. You spoiled us rotten!! Thanks, beloved? A wonderful Holiday to all.

Finally unflooded over here on the PNW coast. I managed to get to town and complete my shipping for Christmas. Better late than never, and isn't the old saying: "G-d willing and the crick don't rise?" I at least, was willing and the crick did rose. Tomorrow? I see Wicked 2. Don't spoil, k?

This Christmas my one wish is for folks to check on their neighbors. We checked on Miss Becky. She had no heat, no food, and I mean no food. She hasn't eaten since Friday. This is our new "normal" in the USA. We don't have much, either, but we found a way to share.

Folks! I'm so excited!! I just completed a year-long project! A niece asked me for any old family recipes. I've just written a cookbook! I've ended up with about 600 double-sided pages altogether.

Turkey's in. Cranberries, stuffings (yes, plural), and gravy done. Potatoes prepped and peeled. Rolls are doing their thing. Glazed carrots prepped. Roasted beets with balsamic glaze, toasted pine nuts and feta prepped. Pies done. Cider, mulled wine, egg nog and relish tray out.

This year, Niece delivered food, firewood, a propane re-fill.
