The endgame of exploration of any metroidvania is being a dynamic pathfinding puzzle. Engaging in pathfinding challenges akin to the Traveling Salesman Problem. The one that makes the act of optimizing the pathfinding challenge most complex and interesting is how I would evaluate the exploration

Yeah, my experience felt like a curve bell with silksong, early game was really slow unengaging, probably peaked at mid game, and late game since I was doing every optional stuff the progression system juiced me out too much and engagement levels were dropping again

They really don't. It's easy for me to remember the feeling of what actual good obstruction feels like in an action platformer, thinking like cv, gng, and classic ng and silksong isnt even close to that

Complain more.

Ye kinda but theres some leniency to time so you can still die and get default highest rank, saw a default S hard stage 2 speedrun w/o triple damage and they were constantly damage tanking the wide fires and making it up for it by regening hp on checkpoints. Basically a bit less room for sloppy play

You should cuz you cant get the highest rank in the game without them.

Did you mess with the tailsmans that make the game harder on your first go? I equipped the one where damage is received by triple and a single death brings you back to the beginning of the stage. I felt like these were able to keep me more honest and deliberate on normal

Whats even more insane is despite how much nonsense this game has it somehow has a fairly positive reputation among the general public, at least thats the vibe i get

I played through this whole game cuz I vaguely recalled you reccing it and sat there thinking you were out of your damn mind LMAO

I was thinking that I should seriously by default run every game 20% faster on emulators nowadays

Funnily enough Sakurai has this mindset when it comes to balancing smash.

TOTK might have even worse balancing somehow. With something as simple as the hoverbike undermining the hell out out of its core mechanics. But yeah its clear nintendo doesnt care about balance and want people to make their own fun
