Not long ago I took this to the extreme to make a trailer. A lot of stuff is set up like a cut scene but I also had to drive the player car manually and very precisely to get the action I wanted. I was really pleased with the result but went increasingly nuts whenever I had to reshoot!

Maybe I'm fortunate to enjoy both in different ways. Reusable systems are satisfying and make me feel like a good dev. "Have this character give a unique reaction in these circumstances" is fun creatively. Best to have it all layered on top of a solid, reusable architecture, of course

Too many times I've spent ages doing something in Blender that it turns out you can do in literal seconds with built in functions. Love this
