Oh yeah one last thing. These people think that those who live in big cities are the scum of the earth. This is entirely one sided because nobody who lives in a big city ever thinks about someone from the middle of nowhere. Why would? It is entirely one sided

We need to stop coddling these people. There is a reason why rural towns are dying and it’s people that are sick of dealing with it just leave for a big city. People like me

I don’t know what the answer is here for this. Even if they get Medicare/aid stripped from them, even if they get their hospitals shutdown, even if all the jobs are lost down in their town, they’re still going to vote Republican because it’s better to do that than admit that they were wrong

Any conversation you try to have with these people just turns them belligerent and they start screaming at you or they just brush aside whatever you say because it doesn’t conform to the world view that they’ve carefully constructed to justify their shitty behavior

They are the backbone of the forces of reaction happening in this country. It is not about economic anxiety to these people. It’s the fact that they think queer and brown folk are destroying this country and that Donald Trump is the strong man that will save them

I worked at a local store there and just some of the shit these people would say to me because I was a straight white dude they thought was just like them was insane. And while not all of them are like that, the majority are and that’s what should worry folks
