Logitech. Used them for years. Tried others here and there, Corsair, Razer, GMMK, etc. Most were fine, but never actually could stand up to the use and abuse like Logitech. Razer software was always a problem for me too. I still have an MX518 I got in 2008 that I use for a spare.

Reasonable. I was going to say arrows: ⬆️⬇️⬅️➡️. That might be too basic. Using emoji symbols might work: ✅🚫❗️❓
Now that I think about it, colors might be a way to go. ⬛️⬜️🟦🟥. Just need to make sure color blind people have access. Otherwise glyphs like Nintendo does on joycon games is probably best.

Define "shapes". Because that really takes out pretty much anything that can be used if left very broad.
If you mean, shapes as in just not using the basic Circle, Square, Triangle, Cross that Sony uses, then things can be a little more open for interpretation.

That actually sounds like a really good series of videos. Comparing games from their launch version to their latest or final release. Cyberpunk 2077 (especially if using the PS4/XBO version) would be another good candidate.
