The best point was eleven years ago, but now is good too.

It already is; that's effectively what fuel duty is. The per mile EV levy is to redress the loss of revenue to the Exchequer. I can see why, but it feels like any implementable system is going to be either game-able or big brother. Govt should look for more imaginative ways of replacing lost tax.

Fair. I'm not hot on the idea of using my EV battery for load balancing. That said, I do have home battery storage, so if others want to use their EVs to do that, go for it. We have the technology to do this, it just needs investment and positive regulation.

You're arguing for the privatisation of public space. A better approach, which you almost got to with the "saturation" comment is that, plus a national charging payment platform which would allow you to charge at any kerbside charger and be billed by your electricity supplier at your domestic rate.

It's likely it will be self-declared at VED renewal and checked at MOT, so you could get away with under-reporting for the first three years but then you're going to get a big bill.

I had an S-Max that had reached end of life. I replaced it with a BEV from another company. Ford designed their GE1 platform and had they built a vehicle similar to the S-Max on that, I'd definitely have bought it. Instead, they built the Mach-e. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

We moved the bridge in the 70s but they keep building new stuff and a lot of the old stuff some people just want to leave where it is.

And yet in The Arndale (I shall never, ever call it 'Luton Point') (Yaxley-Lennon was born in Luton) yesterday, a carol event featuring children of all ethnicities being applauded by an audience of all ethnicities. My son complained that they "weren't loud enough". "They're only kids," I replied!
