Does anyone more informed than me have thoughts on why we don’t recruit more Gurkhas? We have about 5k. India has c. 42k. I believe British Army recruitment is always oversubscribed. We need to keep standards up but couldn’t we have another 10 or 15k? (Nepal wd have to agree obvs).

Such a shame it had to be protected and change the appearance of the sublime BH. Great art; bad person. Two things can be true at once!

Could we agree with Nepal to recruit more Gurkhas? We have only 4,000 now. Poss issue with depleting manpower in Nepal, but India already has 42,000. Not the whole solution but could boost infantry numbers.
