Today we spotted two #Bowhead whales ((Balaena mysticetus) right outside the station at the sea ice front. The majestic Greenland right whale are special for #Disko_Bay and their singing is captured in real time by #hydrophones and broadcasted as part of the diskolive.com/the-animals#... project.

A helicopter view of Arctic Station for a new group of researcher that arrive yesterday from #Ilulissat. Perfect flying conditions which certainly have not the the case for while. The #DiskoBay ice cover is breaking up and allows for maritime transport as well. #Qeqertarsuaq

We have had quite a number of scientists at the station since late March and through out April. The weather is indeed changing color and mode all the time making fieldwork a challenge. The snow buntings seem not to care.
