A very kind gentleman from Derbyshire emailed me to ask if I had any interest in a sampler he's had on his kitchen wall for 30 years. Turns out it made by my 3rd great aunt! She died 4 years after creating this, at age 16. So nice of him reach out and send a photo!

Sadly, I've just learned that my father's lifelong friend Garth Hudson has passed away at 87 years of age. They were high school friends and played together in a high school band. They would get together whenever possible. Very sad news.

I remember many years ago a U.S. contractor came to my office in Toronto. He said he didn't realize he needed a passport as it might as well just be one country. I said "Yea, but how would you feel about being called Canadian". He understood and laughed.

In my tree I had a Donald Malarkey. I didn't know who he was until a DNA match showed up. Proud to find out he's one of the 'Band of Brothers' soldiers. He has a Canadian connection to my maternal side, a 5C2R. And yes, I proudly watched the series.

I've managed to locate an autographed photo of UK actor Edward Smith Willard (1853-1915) a 1st cousin 4 times removed. A friend of Bram Stoker, Sir Henry Irving, J M Barrie and even Oscar Wild wrote him a letter. A new family heirloom! @AncestryUK @WDYTYA_UK
