Hot takes about bikes, transit and interstate / international transportation, and other random scribbles. Residing on Kulin Nation lands near Naarm in Australia. Originally from South East Asia. Also on Mastodon (@[email protected]) and Discord. Ex-Twitter
Oof, nearly slipped and fell trying to cross the tram tracks while overtaking a turning SUV that didn't kept all the way in the left lane. Good thing I was on my lighter foldie and only scraped my shoes on the asphalt trying to regain balance.

The frequency and quality of the facilities aren't the best but it's still crazy that it has a considerable sized metro system for an island with a population of half a million www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWGh...

Most of these songs are from a time before I moved to Australia but I have to admit I didn't really mind this countdown, with a few of my choices ended up in the top 100, some from before and some after my arrival.

I wonder how much it currently cost to administer the existing school concession program, because despite it costing $314m over 4 years ($78.5m/year), I don't think it would be that much more considering the cost overhead. www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

I don't mind the ticket machines on Adelaide trains and trams. Maybe we need to bring it back.

Any American looking at this list and wondering why it's so cheap in Australia is asking the wrong question. The question is, why are pharmaceuticals so expensive in the USA.

(The USA could also buy in bulk and provide subsidies using taxpayer money if it cared about its citizens.)

RIP Val Kilmer. Remembered him in Top Secret!, The Saint and probably one of my favourite Batman.

Not conspiracy stuff, just really bad delivery and pushing the technology without it being ready at all. I still don't get good reception in metro areas on either 4G or 5G.

Somers Parade in Altona must be a nightmare for many drivers. No wonder the 415 bus is often late. Some people park two SUVs on opposite sides of the road leaving barely any room for a bus to squeeze through.

Fantastic to see the Ballarat Line will finally get its long-promised 40 minute weekend frequency upgrade in April!
Extra services also for Ararat, which wasn't on my radar - looking forward to seeing the details but 5 return services per day sounds great. (1/2)
