I have some unscented "pre-shave" oil, but I imagine any oil that's good on the skin. You can probably use baby oil or olive oil.

Also, no matter what razor you use, make sure it is sharp! You don't need to apply much pressure. If the blade snags, sharpen it or replace it (if disposable).

Materials for #facepaint & #makeup #transformation:

- Water-based face or #bodypaint (see ALT for details)
- Brushes (may also use sponges)
- Water cup
- Wash cloths
- Cotton swabs & pads
- Makeup remover
- (optional) Makeup (eyeliner, eyeshadow, lipstick)

Photo of materials with text labels. Water-based face and body paint. Water cup is used hold water to activate the paint. Brushes are used with the water and paint to apply the paint. I do not use sponges, but you can use sponges too. Use a washcloth or paper towel to help clean your brushes or control water. Makeup is optional. I use eyeliner, eyeshadow, and lipstick in most of my transformations. To remove, cotton swabs, cotton pads, makeup remover, and washcloths are your friends. Soap and water will remove the bulk of the face or body paint and a washcloth can also help remove it. Cotton pads or cotton swabs with some makeup remover is great for removing makeup or paint around your eyes and lips. I use micellar water as my makeup remover. It works with face and body paint too. Not affiliated or sponsored by any brand, but I know it can help to have a starting point so here are the ones I show in the image: Wolfe Bros. Face Art & FX, ProPaint by Graftobian, Paradise by Mehron. I have no brand loyalty, but I do recommend water-based face or body paint for most situations.

My safety tips:

- Test a patch away from face for reactions
- Do not share makeup, particularly eye makeup
- Have remover and wipes ready before you start
- Some stain (esp. red)
- Wash brushes and sponges

My zebra facepaint with blue eye and lip makeup. My eyes are closed and you can see my septum piercing. Ameterasu from Okami on the left and myself as a cheetah on the right. Our eyes are closed and you can see my fangs peeking out from my lips. I am wearing a chainmaile collar around my neck. I am painted as an orange tiger with blue stripes. I am looking down and my hair frames my face. I have a lilac fishnet top. I am painted as a wolf. The pattern uses white, brown, grey, and black to mimic fur. I have blue eye and lip makeup and a red fishnet top.
