Yes, and if one subscribes to Quantum Hologram theory, other dimensions and other universes can exist right on top of us, the same way television channels all broadcast across the same space. But the bandwidth is not infinite.

Because 4-D space-time isn't expanding into an existing "space" but literally into nothingness. And when they say the universe is nearly flat, it's like an inflated balloon that's so big you can barely see the curve at all. But the space within the balloon is 3-dimensional.
