I happened upon my back catalogue of twit hot takes. I still think this is a reasonable take.
We’re slowed down by the ‘splain, when there’s no time to lose. Taylor Swift should write a song about it.
(People like @timinclimate.bsky.social will tell me if it’s wrong, in a non-mansplainey way)

I agree - the nuclear plan is a very poor and expensive plan. However, Labor is currently making claims to being at the front on international environmental leadership, as though IPCC science on what’s required for 1.5 °C as well as Pacific leaders views on Australia’s coal approvals do not exist.

Well the “more followers” moment has passed, but it was quite fun while it lasted. I hope more MPs turn up here. It can replace old Twitter and the “public square” it provided.
I also highly recommend you follow Australia’s 🇦🇺Minister for Climate Change and Energy, @chrisbowenmp.bsky.social

Following the devastating outcomes of COP29, this is now a corny Christmas movie review account.
All other content will be paused until 1 January.
Let’s get started - “Meet Me Next Christmas.” Strong heroine. Smooth plot lines. Epic costumes and staging. Believable love story. 5 Corns.

A fun thing about politicians joining BlueSky is we all get to enjoy the moments when we have more followers than them.
Look, I’ve been working on climate and energy for a very long time, but I never thought I’d have a bigger following on socials than the Minister for Climate Change and Energy. :)

Had a great time last night chatting to mates at our favourite bar about how we’ll save the world from climate change. So far it seems to be working. You’re welcome.

Me and a million of my Qld friends convinced the Qld Govt to commit to a new climate target (75% below 2005 levels by 2035 - a big deal for the most polluting jurisdiction in Australia) legislater in the Clean Economy Jobs Act. It has bipartisan support and endures through the Qld election. 👍🏼

Oh man it’s great here! Hi old Twitter friends! But you’ve missed all my best hot takes since old Twitter! Been putting them LinkedIn… here’s some highlights. I’m heaps more famous, these days. I also helped win a new climate law for Queensland, with bipartisan support. No biggy. (It was a biggy).

Hey friends 👋🏼. This is a few weeks overdue, but this was my main US election hot take. I’m across all the reasons it’s not the death knell for climate action. I get we need to communicate that. I also think we need to hold space for how much pain, hurt and harm the outcome has caused and will cause.

Breaking up with the bird app explained beautifully by the poetry of Taylor Swift. Love this track.

Hi BlueSky. Here for the work chat but to start myself off, here are some road trip pics with truly cracking weather. An east coast drive to my Melbourne home, from the heartland of energy/climate in Australia - the pivot point of our energy transformation - Queensland. Sublime, really.
