Either way, both versions allude to a next adventure with freeman in search of the borealis and to avenge Eli joined with Alyx or to save Alyx with Eli(depending on which end is canon now)

So the game ends in them learning about the existence of Aperture’s Borealis (yes, Aperture from Portal) and setting out to search for it with eli dying and alyx joining you…
