Outraged.

Minneapolis / Saint Paul.
The U’s regents haven’t been covering themselves in glory with their hires for president this century…

My typo was Demouth. Oops.
January 26, 2026 at 11:37 PM
Demouth has the position and influence to start an official investigation of any state agency or practice by house committees.

That she chose a path that would predictably cause Minnesotans harm should disqualify her from public office.

Yeah, I die inside a little every time I think about how roughly 2/3rds of my fellow citizens either actively voted for this or chose not to vote.

I thought Fugitive Caesar was doing a bit - like telling ICE that leather-sole shoes are better for walking on ice.

I guess I’m looking for a it of humor wherever I can find it this weekend.

It’s totally giving “super gay guy who thinks he’s straight“ vibes.

Nothing says supply chain excellence like balloon letters.
January 25, 2026 at 10:52 PM
I’m genuinely surprised by a few of the companies co-signing this letter - I didn’t think their c-suites were that detached from the horrors of everyday life in Minnesota.

Shame on me.
January 25, 2026 at 9:18 PM
It’s awfully nice of them to give us a “boycott or do less business with these companies“ list.
January 25, 2026 at 8:06 PM
C, but with “and continuing to make us proud to be part of a community that cares about each other.” Or something similar.
January 25, 2026 at 7:59 PM
Right? And like critical comments about Schumer’s job performance in a public role that impacts each of our lives on a near daily basis are some how off limits?!
January 25, 2026 at 7:32 PM
Thanks! I’ve already blocked them, but was mostly humored that a an account obviously concealing the true identity of the user would accuse me of using... an account created to conceal my identity.
January 25, 2026 at 7:15 PM
Nice non sequitur!
January 25, 2026 at 5:46 PM
Chuck Schumer is so effective that he shutdown the federal government for six weeks only to have the funding bill pass without achieving any Democratic goal.
January 25, 2026 at 5:36 PM
Chuck Schumer is so effective that he didn’t know other Democrats were negotiating to end the last shutdown behind his back.
January 25, 2026 at 5:34 PM
Mamdani wasn’t a leader in the Democratic Party at that time.

What I care about is leadership - and the lack thereof.
January 25, 2026 at 5:33 PM
Chuck Schumer is so effective he refused to endorse the Democratic Party nominee for mayor of the largest city in his home state.
January 25, 2026 at 5:28 PM
He is so effective members of his Senate leadership team (mine included) regularly vote to confirm Trump judicial nominees.
January 25, 2026 at 5:26 PM
Yeah, not really. I just prefer a leader who leads. Schumer just makes me long for someone with the competence of LBJ or Harry Reid.

Seems like you prefer a leader who kowtows to the opposition.

Then again, it also seems like you might be a lurker account for a Schumer staffer.
January 25, 2026 at 5:23 PM
Really hoping that the follow-up question was, “So you don’t believe that the 2nd Amendment provides for the right to carry a gun?”

I’m almost curious enough to watch the whole show!
January 25, 2026 at 5:18 PM
It’s annoying when the GOP claims credit for anything good and blames Dems for everything bad - we shouldn’t abide the same approach by Democrats.
January 25, 2026 at 5:13 PM
And since he worked to influence the outcome of Dem primaries and general elections in Senate races through the use of PAC and party funding, he gets to share responsibility for the loss - just like he would take (and has taken) credit for the wins.
January 25, 2026 at 5:09 PM
Schumer is a milquetoast leader who has shown /zero/ evidence that he’s capable of rising to meet the unprecedented challenges we face.

He protects his position of influence and doesn’t show an ounce of the courage of the folks in the Twin Cities in facing the moment. It is deplorable and shameful.

Anyone know of any coffee shops in the hot zones who are fundraising to provide free coffee/tea and bars to observers? I’d happily contribute if I am able to find something legit.
January 25, 2026 at 1:56 PM
Um, wasn’t he majority leader from 2021-2024? And then he lost the senate.
