The tower is placed directly in the center of frame and dominates the photo. The tower has a stone base, abovewhich sits a steel latticework which looks a bit like brickwork forms the main body of the tower. Light from within shines through this latticework, and light emits from a ring like structure at the top, lighting up the whole tower like a shining torch. Behind the tower, flanking it on either side are several trees which have blue and purple lighting shining upward onto them, giving them an unnatural glow. In the extreme background, a tall building in the left of frame offers visual interest, while a hazy gray sky draws the eye back to the focal point.

A color image of the disc of the Milky Way. Unlike much modern astrophotography, this is not taken as an image stack but rather "as the eye would see it". The perfectly clear night gives a beautiful view of the faint colors of the disc of the Milky Way, which runs nearly vertically through the frame. Trees in the upper right and bottom left obscure just a small portion of the sky and give a sense of place. A wide field of view shows a huge expanse of the sky, including most of the central disc of our galaxy. For those who look very closely, the points of each star are actually lines, not points, as the earth spins measurably during the 30 seconds of exposure time.
