As a historian, facts! Understanding something about history in this moment is kinda awful, especially when you know the logic of neoliberal capitalism makes an uprising so much harder. Stripped of historical context, non-violence gets used as a test of virtuous resistance

I discovered Rocky Horror in 1978 (first year at uni) - the audience was a delight, riding the TTC out to the Roxy all dressed up & making normies nervous - FUN!!! 9 years later I was hanging out with John Waters & friends in Baltimore. Neither was setting out to make positive role model movies
