this is by design since folks get paid for engagement #overthere so there's incentive to create content that people engage with. Since rage-bait is the most reactive content, the algorithm will push it, since it only weighs engagement metrics and doesn't understand the context of what's causing it
Not to mention the algorithm will bring up the same topic/ original tweet up constantly! Even you mute the original tweet, the algorithm will bring up the fucking QRTs. Like you said for HOURS or even days!
One of my biggest issues with Twitter was / is people’s need to react to things you know they truly don’t care about. Things that legit don’t matter at all they’d speak about for hour(s)
