BEST elements to have in 1 character

I think what I really love The Most is the throughline theme of the campaign: it's about learning to take care of yourself by taking care of each other.
Almost everyone starts Selfish and in shambles, then spend a whole adventure falling in love w/ each other (in one sense or another). Ideal D&D.

Excited for you!!
There's so much drama coming, and the most beautiful of friendships among the most charming disaster squad

But this ensemble cast of the characters in the M9 party and the NPCs Matt was fleshing out -- it's GOOD narrative.

And ofc so much is so special abt CR b/c it's Kind people who obviously feel so personally connected/love what they're making with real ppl they care about personally. Happy 4 them!

OC shipping is so good!

These came over from another game into FF AU:
My Dynamis alt, a gay lizard gladiator/Flames soldier on the path to paladin, & my friend's magical adventuring rabbit who arrived in Ul'dah to bring sunshine into his life.

(in a super basic pic.. but they're just cute)

And it is A Cop Show, in spite of perhaps being more intentionally realistic than some (see: these cop charas are doing such shady things along with their presented-as-noble War On Gangs/Drugs)

I am investing my attention. (20 yrs after the popularity)

(The weirdness about race surprises me not at all, because that is reflective of society & our media products within my entire lifetime--and in some ways the 00's felt like there was backsliding going on)

I was greatly surprised that they have showed a main character's live-in lesbian relationship. 2 women of color are in love and it shows that they are Physical about it. Two men also kissed. The way the show is about race is Very Weird tho--are white people going to be allowed 2 b gay? I'm tuned in.

Eleanor Shellstrop, u r a protagonist of all time in the company of legends -- I guess to me you really are endless

. . . The way that Mindy's closure went was another I will be thinking back on. Her comment about having other people helping her. . I can feel for that.

Funny tho-- I instantly forgot the actual end of the show. I already don't know how that part went.

--that made a statement in a show where giving people infinite chances is the fantasy being dreamed about.
I guess leaving it at that was fair, since non-Brent characters are doing the role of showing "what if someone turned around from being seemingly irredeemable?" but it still had an abruptness.)
September 14, 2025 at 9:31 AM
(From the episodes I still had left, the thread of Simone responding to how Brent behaved did feel like it didn't really... have adequate closure compared to how much they were saying with that. Like-- her walking away because /she/ isn't putting it on herself to give someone infinte chances--

-- I would describe it as a valuable show to watch. Purposeful with the themes they were exploring. Some good jokes in it & and choice characters to spend time with.

The optimism is appreciated

Yeaaaahh Seems like, unfortunately, it's way too real

I don't think this comment needed to be posted

It's a problem to scaremonger on someone else's post that doesn't mention that info about themself.

Some posts are about specific issues, not about every bad thing at once (and why act like they don't already KNOW?)
September 14, 2025 at 5:57 AM
while we know this already happens (prisons taking advantage of the poorest & most vulnerable for slave labor), you can't dismiss this rhetoric with "they'd never". There are absolutely people who ended up in a dire situation/lost their home because they can't do "work".

To people this callous about it, they don't want to be inconvenienced by social obligation.

Imagine preferring to pay others to murder on the simple assumption that it'll "solve the problem" faster and Cheaper than than helping people obtain a home to live in. No thought to the consequences..
