Look I made a cheeseburger healthier by replacing the buns with croutons, kept the lettuce, cheese and tomatoes, and replace the burger with olives.

A good idea would be to break it into smaller task. Focus on one mechanic at a time. Like in paradox games I suggest playing tall and focusing on economy first and ignoring diplo and war for the first few game. Even if it leads to a lost the goal is to take on at least one aspect of the game.
