I don't think drawing parallels to media/literature is reductive at all. Stories/Literature/Media are intrinsically political since they all reflect the assumptions and opinions of the artists' worldview. Drawing parallels/comparisons can be beneficial in achieving understanding.

I think there will be an interplay with a lot of Vastaya, but I'm really not sure what their role will be in the show and km curious to see what the show runners choose to do. But in my opinion all of these characters have really good stories to tell in the next series.

Noxus: Byram Darkwill, Swain, Darius, Draven, Katarina, Urgot, LeBlanc (from the shadows), Kled, Sion and Maybe Vlad.
Ionia: Shen, Yasuo, Yi, Kennen, Akali, Irelia, Karma, Zed, Lee Sin.
Vastaya: Wukong and/or Ahri.

Characters I'm not sure about: Riven (will be there, not sure where) and Jhin.

In the next series, I fully predict there will be two stories similar to the Zaun/Piltover narratives. This will be Noxus/Ionia, showing each sides place in the fight. I want to go into important characters i think we will see.

The current ruler of Nlxus at this point in the story is Boram Darkwill. This has been confirmed by the showrunner in an interview with Necrit. Right now, Jerico is a foot soldier as Noxus will begin in its initial seige of Ionia. It's important to note that he is not in any position of power yet.

So it makes sense that the next story, lore wise, would be focused on the Noxian Ionian war.
We've already been introduced into Noxian politics.
We've met Vastaya.
So now we get into Jerico Swains story.
