Yeah it really feels like all the stores at this point are just running to the hills banning this game to avoid being called out on something, considering the climate we're currently in at this moment. Hopefully GOG won't also bend the knee about this

Also, just to further clarify: Vile did NOT have any nudity. Merely the implication of it. Again, zero consistency.

The stores here literally have no coherent reason for their action. They're reacting to rumors and hearsay. There are no rules-as-written that are being broken. And in Valve's case, there's no rules written at all. They literally don't tell developers what is or isn't allowed, merely if it's blocked

Also, some people are suggesting that Horses contains FMV, so that's a hard line that stores won't allow, like the recently-also-banned Vile: Exhumed

Thing is... Indie darling Immortality has full-frontal nudity, sex AND violence and is all FMV, and nobody complained about that, let alone banned it

Developer Statement: VILE: Exhumed is a game about searching through an old computer, uncovering dark secrets, and experiencing the horrors […]

Oh, and just to add an extra layer of absurdity to this:

The game is fully reviewed on IGN. They confirm that the content is comparable to an M-rated movie.

Humble is owned by the same company as IGN. They have banned it because it is too scandalous.

'But what about the scene that they cut!?', I hear some of your ask.

Yes, there was one slightly questioanble scene. In an unreleased version literally years ago. That scene also would pass muster in an M-rated film.

That scene was never released. Only mentioned in text. It is purely theoretical.

for anyone interested here's what i've been doing (1/2) bsky.app/profile/elli...
did this for a mutual who wanted to know how id shaded a piece. this isnt the most realistic shading, but if you want a very quick and easy way to shade characters on a blank bg, this can work.
