This is why public education is being gutted. Can't have people *reading* the Constitution. Much better to treat the text like arcane knowledge that must be interpreted by the Nine High Wizards.

Sam Huntington's Clash of Civilizations theory has been around since the 90s, & it's been invoked anytime something like this happens. It's also been thoroughly shredded in both pre & post 9/11 academic lit. I wrote my undergrad thesis on this and idiots like Miller who invoke this bigoted worldview
