Fascist movements such as the current far right surging everywhere are comprised of people who are or at least accept evil. By lending your vote to them you aknowledge that you too accept evil, or at least tolerate it. I do not tolerate evil, I fight it.

Trump is actually playing a one-dimensional chess against his imaginary foes and he already undermined the most important currency in the global markets: trust. After narrowly missing the 5% mark needed to get seats in parlament Sahra Wagenknecht now evaluates contesting the results due to low participation of Germans abroad. She also argues that polls too close to election day influenced her party negatively. This won't help her downhill political path.

In view of the daily craziness it seems that MAGA follows a MATBTF (Make America Too Big To Fail) strategy as a worst case scenario, a projection of Trump's biz path. Counting on "the rest of us" to "bail them out" when they fail. We all will pay for it but they will sell it as their accomplishment.

Sometimes I think that notorious politicians who strive in populace discontent pandering to the lowest denominator are privately nice people, that they cannot be possibly so evil. That it is all a show in an effort to mirror the anger and in doing so looking genuine. But people will never notice.

We want to differentiate ourselves from animals, but we are all trained animals, some better, some worse. An educated person functions better in society (my definition of "behaving better"), a trained dog ditto. Hence, human beings = trained animals. Now, some animals are untrainable...

Even while prospering we live in different worlds. We consume differently, food, media, whatever. We don't laugh at the same jokes, our children get different education. We don't meet and speak to each other more than necessary. I think we don't want to. No wonder we vote for different people.

I love my country, 🇺🇸, enough to not decry a foreigner speaking truth about her—any more than I would laud a fellow American speaking falsehoods about her.
This is a speech worth watching, and is probably infinitely kinder than Trump deserves. I am ashamed at how he is treating Canada.
