brb, going for a quick walk to clear my head...

a google maps walking directions map with a route around nevada, usa, going from goodsprings, to primm, to searchlight, then north to eventually arrive at las vegas.

this is a reference to an obscure niche video game titled "fallout: new vegas" in which it is common for the player to make this same route.

ok i'm suddenly curious, after seeing the way some first-year math undergrads (struggle to) write notation: is there any linguistic research on how it's learned and if there are any patterns in how their understanding develops? there might be some analogs there with natural languages
