“Stop the talking and do the job.”

Had a candid conversation with Juraj Slafkovský yesterday. As he begins his fourth NHL season, he is tired of excuses being made for him.

He, like the Canadiens in general, is ready to come of age.

Much like his Montreal Canadiens, Juraj Slafkovský is ready to come of age
Slafkovský may only be 21, but he will no longer hide behind his age as he begins his fourth NHL season. He is ready to arrive.

Man I had two bylines on Monday and thought I was being super productive.

There is a leadership void.

There is a desire to be harder to play against.

The Canadiens have a player ready to address both needs, a player critical to the ascent in Montreal.

My story on Kaiden Guhle, the most important Canadiens player no one talks about.

Kaiden Guhle, Canadiens’ ‘diesel truck’ of leadership, is quietly critical to Montreal’s ascent
Leadership and team toughness are two things the Canadiens feel they need to add this season. Luckily, they have one player who can do both.

On a day we essentially found out Oliver Kapanen and Joe Veleno will break training camp with the Canadiens, we also learned what will be an important trait of this team this season. Because both players fit the identity Martin St. Louis wants for the Canadiens: www.nytimes.com/athletic/669...
Oliver Kapanen, Joe Veleno are indicative of what’s important to Canadiens this season
Martin St. Louis wants the Canadiens to stack ordinary actions, and that's what Kapanen and Veleno have shown.

SIXTEEN players were ejected from tonight's Battle of Florida. The Lightning and Panthers combined for 312 penalty minutes.

Paul Maurice: "The league will look at that, handle it the same way they do in the playoffs. I’ll leave it at that."

A nice set up by Luke Mittelstadt puts Erik Påhlsson one on one vs the goalie and he scores

Adam Engström does not even come close to looking the least bit out of place this deep into camp.
