Is Ryan Greene the long-term answer on Connor Bedard's wing? Maybe not. But he's holding his own and proving his worth, writes @scottpowers.bsky.social:

Ryan Greene fits the Blackhawks’ long-term plans. The unknown is exactly where
Ryan Greene didn't make the Blackhawks' roster to start the season. Now he's on the top line. Where will he eventually settle?

As Blackhawks practice winds down and guys switch "teams" for drills, Frank Nazar and Ilya Mikheyev are both wearing Jason Dickinson jerseys, Dickinson is wearing a Nazar jersey, and Sam Rinzel is wearing a Mikheyev jersey.

Burakovsky is practicing today and is back with Greene and Bedard on the top line.

I've never watched any of his shows other than Landman, so I don't say this with a lot of context, but... has Taylor Sheridan ever met a woman?

Where Ryan Greene ultimately ends up in the Blackhawks' lineup is yet to be determined, but he's proving to be a long-term piece in Kyle Davidson's plan.

Every ad that shows an actual human holding a full-blown conversation with an AI bot (which is, let's face it, every non-sports-gambling or drug ad these days) is the saddest goddamn thing I've ever seen. It's not just lame, it's not just damaging, it's not just dumbing down — it's just pathetic.

The guy at the car dealership today entered my job title as "Senior Righter." Ironically, that'd make a great title for an editor.

The Daily Northwestern, Palm Beach Post, Appleton (Wis.) Post-Crescent, Washington (Pa.) Observer-Reporter and the Post-Tribune of Northwest Indiana made me. It took me a long time to get to pro sports, but I wouldn't give up those years for anything.

What did we learn from the Blackhawks' game but ultimately futile effort against the mighty Avalanche? @scottpowers.bsky.social has some thoughts:

What we learned about the Blackhawks’ growth in narrow loss to Avalanche
The Blackhawks are well past the days of appreciating moral victories, but perspective is warranted, too.

Connor Bedard's unsportsmanlike conduct led to the Blackhawks' late loss to the Kraken tonight. He accepted the blame, but Jeff Blashill thought it wasn't that simple.

‘It better have been really personal’: Connor Bedard’s unsportsmanlike penalty leads to Blackhawk loss
Bedard's anger against the Kraken on Thursday may have been justified, but it still got him into trouble.
