I told my 10-year-old she had to either email me from her school laptop or text me from my wife's phone every day while I'm in Milan.
She used to think the curling stone emoji was a hockey puck, and it made me laugh, so this is what I get nearly every time:

But nobody was more excited about me covering the Olympics than my mom was. And nobody was a more loyal reader of mine than my dad was. I'm off to Milan and I'm genuinely excited for the next few weeks. Time to get off the mat and lock back in. Thanks for bearing with me.

The Panthers have an 8 p.m. game in Minnesota on Saturday night before coming to Chicago for Sunday's game. So if the Bears win tonight, the NHL can't really move this game up much to accommodate. Could make for an interesting environment at the UC.
