You cannot blame the board for this. We have players starting today that should be more than good enough to beat this Macclesfield team, but many of them look completely disinterested. Throw in poor tactics and this was bound to happen.

Wharton, Guehi, Sosa, Pino, Uche and Canvot have all been bloody awful. None of the rest have been much better.

If I was the FA I’d start looking for irregular betting patterns. Too many of our players look like they’ve thrown this game.

Woken up this morning to see that the batting performance from England’s cricketers was as pathetic as we’ve come to expect. Root and branch changes are clearly needed, the Bazball era has run its course.
