You can look into the following workaround: NINA gets the same MoWaS data which is also here: warnung.bund.de/meldungen There's a RSS feed option.
As RSS reader I use ReadYou (here: github.com/Ashinch/Read...).
I do get notifications, but I've got no idea how well it does compared to the app.
