Secondhand desktops are great. Old Dell or HP workstations can be found on ebay rather affordably, the only caveat is their their PSU doesn't always come with the right connectors to throw in a GPU. If you find one that suits your needs, in my experience they're pretty solid

I don't remember all the details, but I think opentabletdriver helped here and adding some dependencies via Bottles for the program. It worked fine, but i don't think there was hardware acceleration and project file management was a bit of a hassle.

Windows and Linux user here, as well as CSP and Krita user. Unfortunately, Krita isn't quite there yet with UX compared to CSP. Tool management doesn't quite make the cut...

Although, I have gotten CSP working under wine with pen pressure.

On the subject of tangents. The tutorial featured above is a ridiculous example, it's merely stylistic changes, it is not at all what we are talking about when we talk about avoiding tangents. HERE are examples of the kinds of tangents we ARE talking about:
