Can he? I desperately want any reporter with access to him to ask him to list them. Even frame it as helping Americans remember just how much he’s accomplished.

Basically we have to take cues from emerging democracies that try to game out how anti-democracy forces would tear down institutions if/when they gain power. It can't be the American system of "please just do the right thing."

Yeah, this year’s. It’s best not seen. I clicked Play on it not knowing it was Gen AI. The motion of the semi truck almost instantly gave it away. Polar Express-level of unnerving uncanny valley animation.

The Coca-Cola one was so bleak: Santa is a frightening semi truck driver; he comes to a stop, and all the animals cower in fear; Santa is revealed to not be angry, all the animals breathe a sigh of relief. We’re witnessing an abusive relationship, and Santa f’ing Claus is the abuser.

Seems likely to me to be a move to end the “FIFA Peace Prize” with just the one award. Infantino will be found to have done the award in violation of FIFA policy, he’ll pinky promise not to do it again, the award will be retired.

It jibes with the “majoritarian” ideology of the Erdogan regime in Turkey: If a rightist wins a democratic majority one time, that creates a perpetual, self-renewing mandate for personal rule by the rightist movement’s leader.

How does “democratic accountability” work in light of the 22nd Amendment prohibiting a second-term president from facing voters again? Or is this a first step toward justifying Trump’s currently ongoing 2028 reelection campaign?
