I hate the vitriol of parents and school supplies. I am a teacher and I need my students to have their supplies. My kids in elementary brought the whole list and more to open house. In middle and high, they hold their own supplies.

There was a threat against a school in my district. The district decided to close three schools tomorrow but not all of them. A neighboring district is closing schools also. My school is open but I’m not going in. Better to take threats seriously than not.

My school district made a social media post saying that they can no longer make decisions about two-hour delays in the cold. It is -1° now. No delay. The pushback from others is ridiculous. Yes, we did it when we were kids. Yes parents can drive kids to school. But not all. And those worry me.
