I'd not heard of Proton until I saw your other message. I'm using Gmail at the moment. I've just switched to the duck duck go browser and @duck.com email forwarder. Would you recommend Proton?

That's a very fair point. But at least there was a political will to do something. Too many rich countries want to maintain the status quo.

It doesn't help that there's not a magic bullet solution. It really needs a collaborative approach and a willingness to make difficult short term decisions

I do think that it's unstoppable. It could be stopped if everyone was genuinely working together. Remember the hole in the ozone layer and everyone agreed to ban CFCs. There are too many self interested people in power now who only care about how much money they can earn.
