After a chilly and rainy spring, summer has come with the largest positive temperature anomalies in Madrid (what a timing...). Nights are being difficult, with 7 daily records (data since 1920) since late May and already 23 tropical nights (3 >25ºC).
Not the best environment to write a PhD thesis...

Junio de 2025 es, además, el mes más anómalamente cálido de la serie histórica (Datos provisionales).

Ningún mes, hasta ahora, había estado 3,5 °C por encima de su promedio normal. Supera así a octubre de 2022 y a febrero de 2020, los más anómalamente cálidos hasta ahora.

June 2025 ends with SST values three to five degrees above normal for this time of year in the western Mediterranean. Only the Aegean Sea shows a negative temperature anomaly.
