“Leda” - Watercolor on paper. Leda and Zeus were two Great Danes I did portraits of for a man in Vermont that lived in a sprawling house in Stowe. I went there to photograph them. I started with Zeus and let me shoot him....took 15 minutes. Leda was a two hour catch me if you can shot but got it.

An art auction where each artist was given a piece of furniture and they had to turn it into a piece of art. I picked this table….it was to fund an organization that helped people with addiction.I hoped it raised money and helped in any small way because at one time I was one of them.

“Black, White, and Red” - Watercolor on paper. This dog lived up in Stowe. I photographed him on someone else’s porch. I didn’t think back then (not that I do now) but I would walk on peoples porches, backyards, gardens like in this painting the dog didn’t live at that house but the colors worked.

“The Giving Tree” -This was a series of paintings, or a body of work that I titled “In my hands” and had a show at Coco and Salem here in Key West. One of my favorite galleries here. I spent time painting hands because they scared. When something scares me I tend to do it until it doesn’t.

“Love” - Watercolor on paper. This was the dog of the owners that had the Gallery across the street from me. Some paintings make you suffer a bit to get what you want. This painting just flowed from beginning to end. It was a gift to paint.

Watercolor has no white paint, so the white you see here is the white of the paper. You have to carve out the white by painting what is next to it and leaving the white of the paper. It is tricky but if done correctly gives you amazing results.
