They’ve said it doesn’t since I believe the animations for abilities and such are tied to the weapons
Everything that’s not weapons/tools or racial starting gear will be able to mix and matched though!

The real issue with having to name npcs is NOT giving them pun names based on where they work
But still failing but it’s too good to resist
