We are losing much contributing to the intellectual vacuum of online discourse. To speak and listen demands silence. To write well requires composure. Neither are encouraged here. Our identity is a malleable projection, subduing the ego. The Id is unchecked. We become idiots.

This puts conservatism into an impossible category of dehumanized mental illness and misses the role of conservatism and comedy. Conservatives are closed to change and fearful of the unfamiliar. The openness of comedy is a door into possibility a Conservative would otherwise be loath to explore
