Yes, based on results from the SHAVE project, MESH-based hail swaths appear to do a decent (even good?) job at identifying the extent of the swath.

Five of us at NSSL took the buyout and retired yesterday. It has been an enormous privilege to spend >40 years of my career at such an outstanding research lab. The NWC is a wonderful place to work. In these troubling times, it is fortunate that NSSL has excellent senior managers (DaNa, Pam, Kurt).
