Haha! Yea, that was a really good time in Magic. I felt like Alara was truly underrated and really want to go back.

He was my first and best commander at the time and became Nekusar. I was the first of us to figure out wheels, extra turns, and mana rocks were good lol! It had a turn 1 kill off an exact 7 of some combination of mana rocks to dream halls, to omniscience, to enter the infinite that happened once.

Honestly, I miss that too. We are all pretty spoiled at this point but it was also so exciting seeing those possibilities open up in a way that I just do not feel anout new cards these days.

EDH was great before the precons but I wouldn't say best. Lots of color combinations and strategies just did not have viable commanders. I feel like I had to use a lot more staples back then to make a functioning deck. I'd say 2011-15, prior to the 4 color precons was the golden era.

I still wish they didn't buy Magic.info and shut them down. They had the best and easiest proxy making software ever since I was a kid, and to this day, I have not found a great replacement.

The commander rules committee should have said none of this was welcome in the format after walking dead and I was heart broken when they didn't nip this in the bud.

It has gone from 'UB isn't hurting me' to 'UB has actively taken something from me' as a player who has played for almost 30 years. I'm angry and I don't want to be anywhere near it.

I wanted Magic to slow down and you know what, 3 sets next year is slowed down enough for me and I will not engage with UB products going forward until they make good Magic sets in universe again consistently and more often than UB.

I would absolutely be interested in a universes within only commander variant. I'm tired of feeling distressed about Magic. The world is awful enough but Magic feels like it is falling apart too.

I went from feeling okay about UB stuff to utterly repulsed by it myself. It was fine until Foundations when it became half of Magic. It is worse now that less than half of Magic is Magic and lots sets being hat sets. Spiderman was awful and I love avatar and so far it is not looking good to me.
