#devtober day 15

I missed a couple of days.
One of the core ideas is that the main hero job is to collect toxic trash in the unknown area.

Today, I experimented with how that trash could look. I'm not much of an artist, so it's too colorful and bright. But it'll do for now.

#devtober day 12

I finally made a proper interface for the level generator. It's time to stop programming and create some levels...

#devtober days 9 & 10

The London Film Festival started, so yesterday I had no time to work on the project at all.

Today, I managed to create proper code for placing markers and started improving the field generator. Continue rewriting the dialogues, as I'm not happy with them.

#devtober day 8

Didn't get much done yesterday. Took a break from coding and focused on finding assets for the hub and writing the story.

Finally, a video instead of a screenshot! 😊
You can now get a Game Over, and I've added a health system and attack upgrades.

#devtober day 6

Even though I'm working on the project every day, the prototype screenshots don't change much 🤪.

But today, I started adding more Dragon Sweeper features, such as the killing mechanic and automatic updating of tile counters.

#devtober day 5

Continue to work on a core-gameplay...

#Devtober day 4

Spent a few hours today to set up the base for the core. The core is based on Dragon Sweeper, which is essentially based on Minesweeper (and that's all that's working so far).

#Devtober day 3

I still haven't had time to fully dive into development. Today I did a little coding in Unity and looked for assets for the main objects.

#Devtober day 2

I’ve settled on my game idea. It's a narrative project about exploring an alien zone that humans can't enter, but can observe through sensors. Core gameplay is inspired by Dragonsweeper, game I was obsessed with, when it came out.

Completely unexpected thought after watching One Battle After Another. Leonardo DiCaprio would be a perfect fit for the role of Harry in Disco Elysium...

Joining #Devtober, day 1.

It’s less a game jam, it's more a challenge. You need to do smth and post about it daily.
I was always bad at handling my social networks, so I decided to change it :)

Did on of these "about you - games" chart.
Tried to put only one game in each category. Otherwise, almost everything will be filled by Disco Elysium, Frostpunk and The Witcher.

Have you ever thought, how neural networks chat assistants would gather new data in 5-10 years? People tend to use stackoverflow less and less, where assistants would get solid and truthworthy data?

If you ever feel anxious, erratic or inconsistent, just remember that there's someone at Warner Brothers rebranding the HBO streaming every two years.

What's the deal with rolling credits in Blue Prince? Why is it considered just like beating the tutorial? :)

I get that game has a lot of content. But since when do you have to 100% to feel like it's finished?

For me, the credits timing was perfect. I had enough of the game.

Version 1.2 of our anti-shooter Stop Pew Pew, Meow is finally out!

We added more sound effects, make the game easier and also fixed some bugs and collision issues.

You can play new version here: arti-dev.itch.io/stop-pew-pew...

And another indie pick from me. An amazing game about cleaning a bay from your boat.
Very short, but touching :)
Indie game 'Spilled!' focuses on environmental cleanup, developed by Lente over two years while living on a boat.

A graphics update and demo are now available on Steam for PC.

If you want to play Islanders about plants then this game is for you. Plus, the main story is about immigration. ;)

Some games are about pulling the trigger. Ours is about pulling cats out of danger.

Loved Anora. Not my favorite movie of last year, but definitely my favorite film at the Oscars.
Anora wins Best Picture at the #Oscars

Sean Baker is the first person (and Letterboxd member) to win four Oscars for one film.

I thought that today's the last day of jam, but the deadline's actually tomorrow.
Could sleep this night 😬
