Former sports reporter/editor (Milw. Journal Sentinel, Wis. State Journal, several others). Now enjoying my gray years actually getting stuff done for our gov't and wishing I'd have made this move 15 years ago. Still griping about the state's teams though!
One question as the nation and the world come apart at the seams under Trump's policy of cash from chaos...

Where is "Anonymous" to mess this MAGA shit up?

This just popped into my head as a possible way to slightly level the playing field for lower-major schools. If an athlete attends college in his/her home state, their NIL money is not taxable. State or federal. That's a nice incentive to stick around. Last weekend proved something has to be done.

NFC North not such hot s*** after all, ain'a?

Skol to the Vikings, sailing back into the realm of the immediately forgotten never-won-its, where they belong.

How could you have a more disgusting start than the Packers had today? Stupid fumble on the opening kickoff, a defense that couldn't rush, tackle or cover, a penalty on the next kickoff, and a shoulda-been interception. One of these teams was not ready to play.

Horseshit coverage there.

OK, here's where the Bears traditionally come up with an incredibly strange and silly way to blow this game ... Anyone? Bueller????

Could be the most important acquisition by the Packers this year won't be McKinney and won't be Jacobs, it will be Malik Willis.

I imagine that if someone told Dick Bennett that the Badgers scored 116 points and made 21 3-pointers, he'd say "that's a pretty good sum total for January."

This Oregon comeback in the second half is going to be EPIC.

Woke up to a new year, let the dog out and thought "I should turn on CNN and find out how many mass murders there were last night."
And I was instantly bombarded with news of the shooting/Ford F-150 vehicular mass murder in New Orleans.
This is our world. And the rich get richer.

Great comeback effort from the Packers, but here's where Aaron Jones says "see, I told you fuckers you shouldn't have gotten rid of me."

My goodness, the hated Minnesota Vikings are just dismantling my Green Bay Packers right now. Sam Darnold looks like Brady with always-open receivers. Jordan Love can't find anyone to throw to, and can't put it in the guy's hands when he does. And, again, dumb penalties leading to points.

Never would have guessed that the expansion of the college football playoff to 12 teams would have been stupid damn idea, he said sarcastically. Hot garbage so far. Not expecting any difference later today. Nice paydays for everyone, though.

I'm not playing in the elimination pool for avoiding Mariah Carey's Christmas song. But I'd like to start one for avoiding "Aaron Rodgers: Enigma" on Netflix.

@netflix.com Why would you interrupt a particular show I am watching ... with an ad ... about the exact show I was watching? Are you laughing at your customers? That's how it felt. In any event, the ad had the opposite effect - I quit watching and fired up Landman on @paramountplus.bsky.social.

For every good thing Watson does, he does two or three shitty things. Just a net loser for the Packers.
December 6, 2024 at 4:07 AM
Regardless of the way this game ends, it looks like the Packers are ready for the postseason, mentally and physically. In other words, Love is ready for the postseason, mentally and physically. The Lions are really good, and Green Bay is giving them all they can handle.
December 6, 2024 at 4:03 AM
Was Love waiting until the two-minute warning back there?
December 6, 2024 at 1:30 AM
These Detroit Lions are what NFL experts would call "a good team."
December 6, 2024 at 1:23 AM
Badgers looked aimless during the last 2-3 minutes against Michigan, and it cost them dearly. Nothing but lounging around the 3-point line, waiting for someone to fire up a hero bomb. The only question: With Chucky Hepburn gone, who would fire it up?
December 4, 2024 at 12:35 PM
Another incredible choke job by Ryan Day and the Buckeyes. Where does this rank on the list of "The Game's" biggest shockers?

Either Chris McIntosh should hold a news conference tomorrow or Jennifer Mnookin should hold one on Monday.

Fired Chicago Bears coach Matt Eberflus has one selling point to share with potential future employers: That unused time out is still in his back pocket!

A barrel-bottom low point for UW. 44 scoreless yards of 1st-half offense at home vs. Minn., with a bowl bid at stake.
If you're a recruit, you see this and say "why would I want to play here?"
If a player: "why would I want to stay here?"
If a fan: "why would I spend to support this?"
Fix it.
