We had high wind warnings in Beaverton, OR last night. I’m usually up late, 1am debris whipped against the house, the tree beside the driveway was worrying me. I moved our cars across the street & returned to find a large limb had fallen on the path I’d walked just moments earlier. 😬 Close call.

My first #ExtremeRestoration pair of authentic Louis XV chairs. Historical upholstery techniques are crazy complicated & labor intensive. Took 2.5 months. Went with a more modern cotton fabric design for the final look:
A. More general consumer appeal.
B. Period accurate fabric is very expensive.

Spent several months restoring a pair of Louis the XV chairs. My first try at upholstery and I had to go with historically accurate 18th century chairs. 😄#ExtremeRestoration

At the ICE facility in Portland for No Kings last Saturday. It’s not a “war zone.” Protesters aren’t rioting. There’s no fire except a BBQ. ICE seems to gas the crowd when they see too much fun; heavily armed men in riot gear using CHEMICAL warfare, with no warning, on unarmed civilians. War crime?

Do you know what’s more stubborn than permanent marker? ME that’s what! Picked up a pair of great chairs to refurbish. Sanding out scratches & fixing the finish, no biggie. But the original fabric was pretty & didn’t want to reupholster. I tried multiple things over a couple hours, but it worked! 😁

Our first Valentine’s Day date as a married couple. 2nd Valentine’s dinner at Marco’s. David & I are going on 9 years together, romance is not dead. 😆

Giving my little burrito dog Ahsoka a proper snuggles. When regular pets just aren’t sufficient, she’s swaddled in a blanket for a sustained ultra cuddle. This is how we get through fireworks on New Year’s Eve. 😉
