I'm not really sure what's next. I believe I am at war, so I need to wait to change more federation rules. I might let the FE destroy my allies, both to protect cohesion and to be able to claim it back in the next war.
I'll probably continue to build orbital habitats, the jobs are just too good.

So now I think I'm 30 or so years into 2700, and my empire has become hardened.
After centuries of being dragged into wars by my allies, impending doom from multiple angles, and the betrayal, my empire is ready to make some changes.

So now I think I'm 30 or so years into 2700, and my empire has become hardened.

Nothing super interesting happened until the victory year, except 2 more wars against the FE, from which I only lost a single star as territory once.
I came in 6th place, which I wasn't mad about. My buddy was watching me play the final years, and convinced me to continue my game.

But THEN the FE uses gateways to steal a few stars of mine, and I did NOT want that. Cue back and forth for 50 years until all of my wars are over.
My economy is in shambles, my fleets all but destroyed, and I only have 10 years to build it all back. So I tried my best LOL

The other reason the gateways were immensely useful was wartime - and OH BOY my federation buddies dragged me into a lot of wars. Most of them were wars of conquest. Most of them were offensive, a few were defensive wars. I felt like some were proxy wars too.
