It’s bad enough that the MTA get torn in fights between the Mayor and the NY Governor. No way I’d let a republican NJ governor have any control over the subway….

What part could be cut? Mtl to QC? I feel like anything less than Toronto to Montréal doesn’t even pencil

I felt pretty good when the Cons didn’t make it an election issue. I think it’s pretty popular policy and as long as we get 2-4 years more into the project, it should be a lock. Granted after seeing what the Cons did with HS2 in the UK…. But I also feel Canadian Cons are not that nuts

Also love how they slipped in an extra stop on the orange line at Bois-Franc. They knew what was up.

But that’s up to Alberta to fix. They’re the ones fighting tooth and nail to cling to oil. I don’t think anyone in QC is objecting to Alberta greening their energy.… Alberta is holding Canada back….
December 7, 2025 at 11:45 PM
Yes. I get it’s a country wide average. Canada has a higher average than the US. But QC doesn’t. Outliers can pull up averages significantly so my point stands. How much is this Alberta hurting the average for the rest of the country?

That’s why I mentioned the EVs, transportation is rapidly electrifying in Quebec. Heating has been electric for decades. QC is just far ahead on this…
December 7, 2025 at 11:29 PM
Yeah, but how much of that is driven up by the tar sands in Alberta? Like all of Quebec is hydro. Highest adoption of EVs with 40% of new car sales. Lowest GHG emissions in Canada by 50%

Yeah… like what are QC and BC supposed to transition? It’s already 99% hydro… Ontario could improve but AB/SK are the real outliers…
December 7, 2025 at 11:00 PM
I mean… majority of provinces use hydro for their energy. It’s really only Alberta and Saskatchewan that have truly dirty grids. Ontario could improve. But hard to say we’re not transitioning when we already had a pretty green grid….

I can’t wait until Residential Parking Permits removes all the NJ/PA tags on the street. Want to commit insurance faud? No overnight parking for you!

Major story was that the most upset Biden ever was at Obama was when he refused to put his name on all the major infrastructure projects in his term. I get it’s odd… but I kind of agree that it’s important for low information voters in the US.

Especially when inflation and unemployment in the U.S. is still half that of recent Canadian and European peaks. The tariffs weren’t going to last because the American consumers has been too spoiled for decades. They never saw prices increase by 25% because their currency suddenly dropped.

Sometimes that’s all you need to break a streak…. And remember you say soft team but this was a team most pundits said would finish above us at the start of the season. They’re a good team on paper. But we showed everyone on HNIC who was better

Especially if he booked it two days ago…. That Amtrak surge pricing
November 21, 2025 at 4:10 PM
Two factors to consider. 1. Oil may produce a huge economic impact on GDP but I don’t think much of it trickles down. It’s not a high employment center so you don’t need to 5X another sector. 2. How many other industries would double in exports if the CAD wasn’t as high in value due to Oil exports?

Bring back the Av Parc tram plans!!
November 18, 2025 at 12:53 AM
Why would we do that when the Q70 runs just ten min away right now to the train? Like it’s either train to the terminals or just skip the project.

Diabolical. To compliment without naming him. He knew it would kill their egos.
November 11, 2025 at 5:02 PM
I feel like if he focuses first on the fast part, it’ll put more pressure to be able to achieve free afterwards. It’s the right order of operations anyways since service will likely need to increase if buses become free. And it gives Hochul time to win reelection before having to circle back on this

I imagine legally the « source of truth » is paper. There’s digital versions but ultimately it goes back. Supposedly it has caused a lot of headaches with zoning

I think a lot of politicians didn’t want to lose a year of their terms so they were very quiet about it….
