$150 million worth of goods had been planned to be purchased by USDA from local farmers for humanitarian aid programs. However, after Jan 20th, Trump considered this expense “unnecessary” and froze the funding for those initiatives.

56 years ago today, Shirley Chisholm became the first Black woman in Congress. As a fellow Black Congresswoman and her Soror, I’m proud to carry on her legacy.
Honoring her work will be difficult in the next four years, but meaningful work is never easy.
